The following article provides answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ's) as well as basic troubleshooting for Sound Bar Speaker System SB4250KN, SBX4250KN and SBX5065KU SoundStrip.

How do I connect (pair) a device to the Sound Bar Speaker System using Bluetooth?

  1. Press the INPUT button until the display shows "BT" to select Bluetooth mode.
  2. On your device turn Bluetooth ON and allow it to look for Bluetooth devices.
  3. Once the Sound Bar is detected by your device, select TOSHIBA SOUND BAR.
  4. When prompted, enter PIN code 0000.
  5. After successfully connecting, you may be able to play music from your device on the Sound Bar.

 

How do I connect (pair) a device to the SoundStrip Sound Bar using the Bluetooth NFC connection?

NOTE: This procedure ONLY applies to TOSHIBA SoundStrip SBX5065KU Sound Bar speaker system at this time.

  1. On your device turn Bluetooth ON to allow it to look for Bluetooth devices and enable the NFC (Near Field Communications) function. Refer to your devices instructions.
  2. Turn the Sound Bar ON.
  3. Touch the device to the "N-Mark" on the Sound Bar until the device vibrates OR a connection message appears on the device. Messages vary by device.
  4. The device and the Sound Bar will pair automatically.
  5. After successfully connecting, you may be able to play music from your device on the Sound Bar.

NOTE: To prevent accidental disconnection, DO NOT set the device on the sound bar over the N-Mark while using.

 

How do I disconnect a device paired to the SoundStrip Sound Bar using NFC?

NOTE: This procedure ONLY applies to TOSHIBA SoundStrip SBX5065KU Sound Bar speaker system at this time.

  • To disconnect the device connected to the Sound Bar through NFC, touch the device to the NFC N-Mark.

NOTE: To prevent accidental connection to the Sound Bar, DO NOT set the device on the sound bar over the N-Mark while not in use.

 

My device can't connect to the Sound Bar Speaker System using Bluetooth

  • Not all devices can connect to the Sound Bar through Bluetooth.
  • Only one device at a time can be connected to the Sound Bar through Bluetooth. If you wish to connect a different device, you must first un-pair the connected device, then pair the new device.

 

My device is connected to the Sound Bar Speaker System through Bluetooth, but music playing is not heard

  • Even if connections is successful, this does not mean that media can be played back on the sound bar from the device.

 

How do I connect the wireless subwoofer to the Sound Bar?

To use the subwoofer with the Sound Bar, you must connect (pair) the device as described below.

  1. Connect the subwoofer power cord to a working power outlet.
  2. Turn on the Sound Bar.
  3. Turn the subwoofer ON/OFF power switch to ON.
  4. The Sound Bar and the subwoofer will automatically connect (pair). The indicator is Red when the wireless link is activated.

 

The Sound Bar is displaying "NO SUBWOOFER"

When the wireless link is deactivated, the Sound Bar will display "NO SUBWOOFER". This indicates the subwoofer is not connected. To reconnected, perform the following:

  1. Press the INPUT until HDMI-2 mode is selected.
  2. Press and hold the "Next Track FWD" button on the remote control for 8 seconds.
  3. The press and hold the WIRELESS LINK button on the Sound Bar for approximately 5 seconds (until the Red indicator flashes).
  4. The Sound Bar will show "PAIRED" when the Sound Bar and subwoofer connect.

 

The Sound Bar Speaker System does not switch on

  • Make sure it is plugged in.
  • Press the STANDBY/ON button located on the top of the Sound Bar, and check to see if the STANDBY/ON indicator turns off.
  • Turn the subwoofer power switch to ON.

 

There is no sound from the Sound Bar Speaker System

  • Press the VOLUME UP button on the Sound Bar.
  • Ensure the source you have selected is outputting audio. If you are using "audio out" from your TV, please ensure your TV is configured to output audio (refer to your TV User's Guide).
  • Ensure your audio connections are properly made (check for loose connections).
  • Ensure you have selected the correct source (input) - the display of the Sound Bar will show the currently selected source (input).
  • Press the MUTE button on the remote control to ensure the Sound Bar is NOT muted.

 

There is no sound from the subwoofer

  • Move the subwoofer closer to the sound bar.
  • Ensure the subwoofer is turned on. Turn the subwoofer power switch to ON.
  • Press the WIRELESS LINK button on the back of the subwoofer to re-link the subwoofer to the Sound Bar.

 

The remote control does not work properly

Check the following:

  • The batteries are inserted correctly.
  • The batteries are fresh (new).
  • The remote control is pointed directly at the remote sensor of the Sound Bar.
  • The remote control is not being used from too far a distance away from the Sound Bar.
  • Nothing is obstructing the remote sensor on the front of the Sound Bar.
