Follow this procedure to install the device driver for the modem:

1. Open Device Manager, from the Windows Control Panel, by clicking Start, then Control Panel, System, Hardware,  Device Manager.

2. Double-click the Modems (or Other Devices) entry.

3. If there is an entry for "Toshiba Soft Modem AMR", followed by a yellow exclamation point, continue with this procedure. Otherwise, click Cancel button, close Control Panel, and search for a different solution to your modem problem.

4. Double-click the entry for "Toshiba Soft Modem AMR".

5. Click the Drivers tab.

6. Click the Update Drivers button.

7. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)". Click Next.

8. Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click Next.

9. In the Found New Hardware Wizard window, select Modems. Click Next.

10. In the Install New Modem / Manufacturer list, select "Toshiba" and from the Modem list select "TOSHIBA Soft Modem AMR (TOSHIBA)" or "TOSHIBA Soft Modem AMR (Microsoft). Click Next.

Windows will now install the driver for the modem in the Satellite 1800/1805.
