Firmware Update Instructions

 

Prior to upgrading you will need a USB Data cable to transfer data from you PC USB port to the USB port on the back of the Bluetooth speaker. The USB power cable that came with your Bluetooth speaker will not work for this because it is only a USB power cable.

This update tool only works on computers running Windows 7 32 bit OS.

  1. Download and unzip the file called BlueSuite_2.5_Win7.zip
  2. Right click on the extracted file called BlueSuite 2.5_Win7.exe and select "Run as administrator"
  3. If you are prompted to allow the following program to make changes to this computer verify the publisher as “Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd.” and click Yes
  4. Select next
  5. Read the Software License Agreement then select “I Accept the License agreement”
  6. Select next
  7. Select next to accept the default installation location
  8. Select next to select default component list
  9. Select next to select the default start menu folder
  10. Select next to select Additional Tasks
    These tasks should be check marked by default:
    • “Install the SPI LPT device driver.
    • “Set debug transport to LPT SPI”
    • “DFU Tools Environment …”
  11. Select Install when ready to install
  12. Select Finish to “restart the computer now”
  13. After the computer reboots:
  14. Hold the power button down on the speaker for 30 seconds
  15. During this time the speaker will beep and shut off or come on then beep and shut off
  16. Release the power button on the speaker (after the power light has completed turned off)
  17. Press and hold the power button again while performing the following steps.
    During the following steps you must continuously hold the power button down on the speaker.

    • The speaker will power ON after a few seconds.
    • The speaker will then power off again after about 20 seconds
    • A beep should be heard from the speaker when it powers off this time.
    • Connect a USB data cable between the speaker and PC.
    • The computer will now start to install the device driver software
    • When you receive the windows message that the “CSR BlueCore Bluetooth”  “Device driver software installed correctly” you can release the power button
      NOTE: If the “Device driver software installed correctly” does not appear after 1 minute you can release the power button and continue. In device manager you should see “CSR BlueCore Bluetooth” under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers if the device driver software installed correctly.
  18. Press the Windows start button
  19. Select All Programs
  20. Select CSR BlueSuite 2.5.0 folder
  21. Select DFUWizard
  22. Select next to Start the firmware upgrade process
  23. Select Universal Serial Bus (USB)
  24. Select next
  25. Select “Download a new version of the firmware, saving a copy of the current version first. Any previously saved version will be replaced. (Recommended”
  26. Browse to and select the file Toshiba TY-SP3(SH200)_V2.1.14_USA_BASS ON(+4dB).dfu
  27. Select next
  28. Select next when ready to upgrade
  29. When the upgrade has completed the message prompt will say Successful Upgrade
  30. Select Finish to complete the update process
  31. Your Bluetooth wireless speakers is now updated and you can disconnect the USB cable
