FAQ: What is Toshiba Clickpad with Gesture Control?

Information

The TOSHIBA Clickpad with Gesture control can be activated and deactivated to allow finger gestures to be used on the laptop clickpad. This feature may also be refered to as Touchpad with Gesture Control.

NOTE: Available gestures depend on laptop model.

Accessing the Gesture Control Settings

Windows 7

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Enter "Mouse" into the search field.
  3. Click "Mouse" under the search results to open the "Mouse Properties" window. The look of the "Mouse Properties" window will vary depending on the laptop. See the examples below and match to your laptop.

Windows 8

  1. Press the "Windows+C" keys to view the Charms bar.
  2. Select "Search".
  3. Enter "Mouse" into the search field.
  4. Click "Settings" under the search field.
  5. Click "Mouse" under "Settings" in the search results to open the "Mouse Properties" window. The look of the "Mouse Properties" window will vary depending on the laptop. See the examples below and match to your laptop.

If the "Mouse Properties" window looks like the example below, select the "Device Settings" tab. Then click the "Settings..." button.

The "Properties for Synaptics Touchpad" window will open.

You can select available gestures to enable or disable depening on preference by selecting the gesture on the Left and placing checkmarks in the corresponding boxes in the upper Right. Descriptions of the gestures are displayed in the window on the lower Right.

NOTE: Pinch Zoom is shown in this example.

Click "Apply" to apply the changes.

To set defaults, click the "Defaults" button in the lower Left.

If the "Mouse Properties" window looks like the example below, select the "Advanced" tab. Then click the "Advanced feature settings..." button.

The "Advanced feature settings" window will open. Under the "Gestures" tab you can select available gestures to enable or disable depening on preference.

Click "Apply" to apply the changes.

To set defaults, click the "Default" button in the lower Right.

If the "Mouse Properties" window looks like the example below, select the "Device Settings" tab. Then click the "Settings..." button.

The "Properties for Synaptics Clickpad" window will open. Examples of the gestures will stream in the window on the Right.

NOTE: Double-click the video window to open in full-screen. Double-click again to exit full-screen.
